Both state-of-the-art manufacturing and high-end research of lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries face the same problem – the harmful effects of moisture. Either in liquid or vapor phase, it's one of the biggest threats when manufacturing lithium battery devices - especially during electrolyte dosing.

There is no question that batteries are growing in importance in daily life. And it's not just the batteries that power mobile devices, allowing us to talk and surf the Internet. It's also those in stationary applications - storing the energy produced by photovoltaic and wind power generators, for example. And in electro-mobility applications, especially electric cars, lithium batteries are becoming the standard energy-storage medium.

MBRAUN glovebox systems are primarily used for the standard research and development of lithium ion battery technologies and our custom enclosures are used for critical dry production environments necessary for battery manufacturing. Both platforms can help in maintaining a minimum-humidity atmosphere that will neither harm operators nor be disrupted by them. Our glovebox systems and custom enclosures also allow the ability to record and trace the production environment for enhanced quality control.
